So I helped my dad out monitoring the count that took place this morning. Quite interesting the system they used since it all the wards were up for election.
Took from 10am-2ishpm although this wasn't the worse (birmingham is still counting).
Unfortunatly the counters are not allowed to bring food or drink and at 2pm everyone was hungry.
One of the spoilt ballot papers had the letters 'BNP' (for the british national party, a right-wing "we don't like foreigners/recent immigrents" party. One of the conservative monitors said "I can see where he's coming from, It's all very nice visiting the carabian, nice beaches, nice weathers but not a 'white' person in sight.", My step-mom and the counter both appeared to be thinking "Oh bob, did he really just say that?"

WYNNE Andrew Geoffrey Duffill Conservative Party Candidate 2972 3rd 2 yrs
My dad is malcolm freeman, so he lost by a lot. If you compare it to the previous figures. It's not so bad
Name Description Votes Majority
Bennett Philip John Liberal Democrat 324
Stelfox Kevin The Labour Party Candidate 676
Thompson Wendy Elizabeth Mary The Conservative Party Candidate 2,579 1,903
Ballot papers issued 3,583
Electorate 8,995
% poll 39.83%
These figures are not directly comparable because of boundary changes in the ward however. Edwards (my step-brother) girlfriends mother got in with 1493 votes.
Good laugh anyway.
